I'm fairly certain that when you hit the "save" button in the clip view, it writes the warping information to the .asd file, so it gets loaded with the track every time.

Hello! Just to bring our email discussion to the site:

- Clip files (.alc) DO NOT include audio! The audio stays in the .mp3 (or .wav, .flac, .aiff...) file. Clip files contain warping (yes, I've confirmed this), loop and envelope settings.

- Having just the .asd files won't guarantee the persistence of the warping (this is from personal experience - I started collectind .alc files since Live 5 because of .asd unreliability).

- Allowing the upload of .als (set) files would be a plus, since they can contain several clips at once. This allows easy uploading of a group of clips with multiple cue points and loops settings for a same audio file. As with .alc files, .als don't include any audio. If you want the whole package, you need the .alp (pack file) or a .zip with the whole Project folder.

In other words, you should allow your users to upload .asd (even if they're mostly useless), .alc (warping, looping and envelope info) and .als (lots of clips at once) files. None of these infringe copyrights. :-)
